Turn on ‘Private Browsing’ for cheaper flights online

Airlines and travel sites can record your visits by installing cookies on your browser, which can cause the prices you’re shown to rise simply because you’ve searched for those flights before. This is to trick you into buying your flights sooner and encourage impulse buying, the cheeky beggars! Avoid it by switching to ‘Private Browsing’ whenever you book flights.

Roll your clothes for more space.

a lot of people don't know this but by rolling your clothing up, you can fit a lot more in one suitcase/bag so you don’t have travel with a lot of bags. No one like to pay that $35 luggage fee at the airport.

Google Translate is god sent in a foreign country

A language barrier can put a damper on the best of spirits, so if you know the international country you're traveling to uses a foreign language to communicate, do yourself a favour and download Google Translate. It lets you take photos of text in a different language and translate what it means in real time. Just like Google Maps, Google Translate works in airplane mode too.

Build your itinerary using Google Maps Trip Planner.

This might be the greatest travel hack of all time. Did you know that there’s a FREE tool within Google Maps that you can use to create an entire itinerary for your next trip? It’s called Google Maps Trip Plannerand it’s incredible.

There are many ways to save money and make your travels more enjoyable. Here are a few ideas:

  1. Look for flights during off-peak times, such as midweek or late at night, which can often be cheaper.

  2. Consider alternative airports, as they may have lower landing fees and therefore lower airfares.

  3. Sign up for email alerts from airlines and travel websites. They often offer discounts and promotions to subscribers.

  4. Use fare comparison websites to find the best deal on flights.

  5. Book your flights and accommodations in advance to get the best prices.

  6. Consider alternative types of accommodations, such as vacation rentals, hostels, or home exchanges, which can be less expensive than hotels.

  7. Look for package deals that include flights, accommodations, and activities at a discounted price.

  8. Use a travel rewards credit card to earn points or miles that can be redeemed for flights, hotels, or other travel expenses.

  9. Pack light to avoid paying for checked baggage fees.

  10. Use public transportation or walk instead of taking taxis to save money on transportation costs.

Here are a few more hotel travel hacks that you may find helpful:

  1. Look for hotels that offer free perks like Wi-Fi, parking, or airport shuttle service. These amenities can add up and save you money.

  2. Use websites like Savieno.com, Hotels.com or Expedia to compare prices and find the best deals.

  3. Consider booking a hotel that offers a shuttle service to popular tourist destinations. This can save you money on transportation costs.

  4. If you're a member of a loyalty program, make sure to use your points or rewards when booking a hotel. This can save you money or get you perks like free upgrades.

  5. Don't be afraid to ask for a room upgrade. If you're celebrating a special occasion or if the hotel isn't very busy, you may be able to get a better room at no extra cost.

  6. If you're staying at a hotel for an extended period of time, consider negotiating a lower rate with the hotel.

  7. Consider booking a hotel that offers a gym or pool. This can save you money on gym memberships or daily pool fees.

I hope these tips are helpful! Comment your best travel hacks below and share this post with a friend.

Great tip! Definitely useful for casual wear. Do you guys have any suggestions on a good estimate for the number of clothing you bring to let's say a 3-day trip? My husband complains a lot that I bring too much than intended! Haha, it's because on our total luggage allowance he usually gets the bare minimum and I dominate it all with OOTDs. As long as everyone is happy I guess!
